Hi, I’m Dr. Danielle Woods, and I’ve dedicated my career to empowering students, educators, and communities through education. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various roles—classroom teacher, instructional coach, principal, and special education director—each offering unique opportunities to collaborate, grow, and make an impact.

My journey began as a seventh-grade language arts and reading teacher, where I discovered my passion for fostering student achievement and supporting fellow educators. From leading PLC teams and integrating programs like The Leader in Me to teaching English as a Second Language, I developed a love for building systems and relationships that inspire growth.

As I moved into roles beyond the classroom, I embraced the chance to lead on a broader scale. My work as an instructional coach and principal allowed me to design and implement systems like Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), develop inclusive practices, and prioritize shared leadership. Currently, I serve as the elementary principal at Interstate 35 Community School District, where I focus on the whole child—academic, social, and emotional growth—while fostering a culture of collaboration and community.

Education has always been a personal and professional passion of mine. I hold a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Principalship from the University of Northern Iowa, along with additional degrees and endorsements in elementary education, reading, and English as a Second Language. Along the way, I’ve worked with incredible teams, learned from inspiring leaders, and grown from experiences that shaped my philosophy of education.

I grew up in a rural community, and those roots continue to guide my approach to leadership. I believe in the power of relationships, the value of community, and the importance of innovation in helping students and educators succeed. My work reflects these values, whether it’s leading change in schools, supporting teacher growth, or connecting with families to ensure every student has what they need to thrive.

Through my platform, Roots to Results Education Collective, I share my experiences, collaborate with fellow educators, and explore essential topics that drive progress in education. It’s my way of giving back to the field that has given me so much, and I’m thrilled to continue this journey with others who share the same passion for making a difference.
